An Overview of Events

We want Empower to be a true Church Management Software, managing not just your people and your contributions, but your calendar too.  Let’s take a look at how we can keep your church calendar organized while integrating people, attendance, and other helpful metrics.

There are two different options to view and manage your Events in Empower.

List View

The List View (accessed by clicking Events>List in the top menu) is designed to show you the details of each event.

Upcoming events are listed in the navigation pane in order of occurrence.  

Clicking on an individual event will show the Event details in the detail pane.  

 

Basic 

Under the Basic tab, you will find event location, description, and occurrence details.  These details can all be edited by editing the event itself.  

To edit the event details, click on the pencil icon just to the right of the Event title.

 

Activities

The Activities tab displays the Activities that have been selected to be a part of the Event.  If no Activities are selected, the Event will by default be a church-wide event.  These activities can be selected when Adding a New Event, but can also be added from this screen by clicking on the +Add Activity button in the top right corner of the detail pane.  


Attendance

The Attendance tab will display all of the attendance data for the selected event.  To record attendance for an event, you must choose Activities that have Check-In enabled or utilize only those activities with ongoing Check-In selected.

Calendar View


The Calendar View (accessed by clicking Events>Calendar in the top menu), displays each event on the calendar.

There are three different calendar views, month, week, and day each accessed by the tabs in the top right-hand corner of the detail pane.

When in the Calendar view, you can easily return to today’s calendar by clicking on the “today” button in the top left corner of the detail pane.

Events can be filtered by using the Filter Events button in the top-right of the page.  


You can also Edit or Delete an event by clicking directly on the title shown on the calendar. 

To add an event from the Calendar View, simply click on the +Add Event button in the top-right corner of the page.
